The Making of "New Rakune"
(The Story Behind the Invention)

The wheelchair was invented approximately 100
years ago in Germany. It has been used since
then,without much alteration in form.
However, Mr. Iura, being the president of a
health care equipment manufacturing company
and an inventor, thought,"People who use a
wheelchair use one because they cannot stand
well.
Then why is it that they must stand once before
getting into a wheelchair? There must be a way
to solve this impracticality".
It was this thought by Mr. Iura that resulted in
the creation of "New Rakune". By simply lifting
the safety bar, the wheels move so that the
user can easily slide his/her body to get into
the wheelchair.

For the user to get on and off the wheelchair by oneself, big movable wheels and an easy to get on and off procedure is essential.
The Wheelchair "New Rakune" has wheels which can be slid back enabling the chair user to get on and off easily from the side of the chair.
It is an ideal wheelchair which a user can get on and off easily without the assistance of any device or helpers.
Usage information
1)Place the "New Rakune" parallel to and next to the bed, and secure the brakes.

2)Undo the lock lever which is by the handrail, and lift the safety bar.
(Lifting the safety bar will slide the wheels to the back and automatically lock the brakes, and keep the wheels from moving.)
Put the trans-board from the wheelchair "New Rakune" across the bed.

3)Slide the body down towards the bed.
