Since about 1975, the perpetual lack of materials (fish) caused by marine pollution, has been an issue we have had to deal with. To overcome this problem, we worked with trading companies to import necessary materials from Korea and Taiwan. Small fish fishing seasons are short and the quantity caught is not steady, making it sometimes impossible for suppliers to meet our demands.
Therefore, in 1988, we established a joint venture " YOU XIN Aquatic Development Corporation " with the Taiwanese (Huagiao - Chinese merchants overseas). At first we began operating on Dongshan Island, but we later moved to Pingtang Island, bringing over Japanese machinery and technology to increase catch quantities. Today we import approximately 45 tons of high quality small fish per year from Xiamerg in the Fujian Province of China.
Our company is constantly in search of plentiful fishing zones in Asia, to secure high grade ingredients for our products. We are presently also looking into working with additional countries, such as Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.
Our search for a wide variety of partners goes on as we aim to continue to obtain high quality ingredients. Our company is located approximately 15 minutes by car from each of the following locations: the Matsuyama Airport, JR Matsuyama Station, and Matsuyama Port Distribution Center (designated by FAZ). The FAZ District, which is promoted mainly by Ministry of Trade and Industry, which receives special treatment concerning taxes, is designed to facilitate international and domestic trading procedures, and has well equipped facilities.
