Programs to Promote the Growth of New Businesses
for the 21st Century
With the airport and ports located within arms reach, Ehime has an ideal
foundation for developing an efficient transportation system. The opening
of the Seto Ohashi Bridge has closed the geographical gap between Shikoku
and the mainland of Honshu, further improving the transportation system.
The modernization of the social infrastructure, including advancements
such as in the development of expressways, has led to a new growth of
enterprise and business in Ehime. In response to the emergence of new
businesses and to actively encourage more new entries, prefectural and
municipal governments have taken up paving the path for an even more
enhanced setting by preparing industrial sites, securing water supplies for
industrial use, creating employee housing and expanding road networks. The
arrival of big businesses has resulted in the advancement of high technology
industries involving areas such as VCR's, IC's and computer parts.
